3 weeks in Maine *swirls of happy faces and hearts* Yeah, I'm cheesy.

I have to say, I am SO looking forward to being in the US again. I really want to see some of the differences between the US and Finland, now that I have a VERY different view on things. Like - what is this with checks? Why can't you pay your bills online like we can here in Finland? (If you're wondering wtf I'm talking about, just ask, I'll explain more if anyone wants to know.)

Not 100% sure yet just what me and my hubby are going to be doing. Meeting people and seeing places is Numbah 1 at this point. We might to New Hampshire... they have a westenr hat store there, which I couldn't find in Maine. But we'll find out when we're there. We're going to go to Bar Harbor and Bangor. Hopefully take a tour of Acadia National Park :D

We're going to SPOIL ourselves on this trip. Micke DEFINITELY deserves to be spoiled rotten. He's been wanting to visit the States since we was a kid. So - it's finally about time!!!

If there is anyone that would maybe wanna see me, lemme me know. Micke and I are going to be busy going places and want to take it quite easy in between so I'm not sure when I could meet someone unless we met in town (like Portland) or somewhere or if Lys invits you over to her place ;P But that's totally up to them!

I'm busy being a squirrel and gathering up Finnish yummies to bring to the States - for Lys and my sisters. Am trying to find some good bag to keep it all in so that nothing will get squished or break, which would suck butt real bad. So, if you know me and know that you want to see me when I'm in Maine, maybe I could bring you something? I have to ask to be paid back though. The only one who doesn't have to pay me back is Lys - but then again she can't think of anything she'd want anyway :giggle: But I am still bringing you guys gifts, you can't stop me! (If you don't like it, I'll devour it, muahahahaha).

The only thing that is annoying is the H1N1 flu that's going around -_-* But they're saying it's more like a normal flu than say bird flu, meaning it's not as bad as they first thought. Then again, the reporting on the H1N1 virus has been kinda scattered and whatever so I'm myself not sure at all about deathtolls or anything like that. But we wait and see how it all develops. It's not a KILLER FLU that's taking over the world - at least not yet.

Been busy with school work and taking it easy. Lots of tests coming up. Psychology on Thursday and English on Friday. 3 tests next week, including Childcare. I forget what the other 2 are.... We're also going to go on a school trip to the "allamazingNOT" Helsinki and do some school-related visits there. Hopefully it will be fun and I'll learn something interesting. We're going with the school's van - all 7 of us (incl. teach) - so let's seen then how far we get........

Working on a gameboard for Physics/Chemistry class. It's about additives in food and all that. Hopefully it will be a fun game that people will want to play. There's another class that is going to have to play the games that we make, harrharr.

I've been getting this kinda feeling lately that I'm drifting away from mah Maineh-roots and becoming more and more Finnish-Swede. Which in a way is good... but at the same time I like my background coming from Maine. It is soooo good to have this trip to look forward to. I know I don't have great if any contact with the people I once knew, but there's many of you I still think about sometimes and hope you're doing well. A few of you are here on dA and I check out your new art/journals, but I really suck at commenting on things. Maybe I should try and do that more often - but if I do, I feel like I'm butting into someone else's business, since I'm not living in Maine anymore. Dunno if that explination makes sense...

ANYWAY - I'm hungry and it is time for luuuuuuuunch. SMAKLIG MÅLTID! (=bon apitit)

Have a good day! PEACE (8D

"Friluftsdag"!

Wed Mar 4, 2009, 7:17 AM
  • Mood: Happy
  • Listening to: Micke working outside
  • Reading: a lotta books at the same time....
  • Watching: Open Range
  • Eating: waiting until 18.00 to eat
  • Drinking: water
"Fri" = "Free"
"Lufts" = "Air's"
"Dag" = "Day"

So, what does "Friluftsdag" mean? *wink* That's what we had in school today. Pretty much that means that the WHOLE school (well, some people didn't come) went to this camping place and we just hung out all day. We had sledding, snowmobile rides, walking, skiing etc. I tried skiing once, though I haven't skied in YEARS. I really enjoyed going on the snowmobile!!!! First we went in a small sled thingy but then the man driving started taking us out onto the ice 2 at a time on the snowmobile. I also had a chance to go all on my own. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNN!!!!!! I went maybe 5 times. He drove so fast. The 1st time I thought I was going to lose my hat AND my glasses! So the next times I left on hat on shore. Luckily my glasses never decided to go flying...... I also did some sledding, which was fun. I haven't gone sledding for a long time. I also built my first snowmen of the year. I decided to make Micke and myself. Then one of my classmates started making a tiny snowman and I said "That's our baby!" And then she made another one, so Micke and I got two children. They were so cute, heehee. Got pictures on a friend's camera (since I forgot mine at home).

I went to J:stad - or Jeppis, if you prefer - yesterday and bought me some CERNIT. Yes, Cernit! HA! Now I shall start forming loverly small creations that are ALL MINE! Ha.. ha... I borrowed a book from the library with ideas and I think I have enough ideas of my own too. 62g/2.2oz = 2.80€. Blargh. I think that was a lot for so little, but oh well. I'll have to see what size I should make my creations. Whee. It'll be fun!

I have packages to send ASA I have got my Easter cards finished. OK, so maybe a bit early with them, but since the packages are going out economy to save on my economy (haha, you get it?) they needa be sent out early....

I'm starting to get a bit tired of the computer now *eyeache* so I'm just gonna chat to my friend via Facebook and leave everything else.

Hejdå!
(aka Bye!)

FINALLY!

I got inspired to update my dA page..... A random event.

I haven't uploaded in a looooooooooooooooooong time. I have a few things I could upload, but I haven't gotten around to it. my interest in dA has gone down, a LOT. I pretty much just check in on friends' pages and what they have here.

A lot is going on in life right now. Biiiiig plans in life. I'm looking forward to the future! If the world doesn't explode in 2012 or whatever. Haha, have to live life until then at least!

I love my husband with all my heart. We're having a goo'ole time here in our small apartment. We go good together in this small space. He's currently talking on the phone with his friend while working on the table that he built outta scrap wood. This man is amazing. I told the girls (aka my classmates) that they should try to find guys as good as him. Dunno what they thought about that... but hopefully I gave them some good advice.

Currently we - the class - are working on a play for the "children's festival" that the school has once a year. It's coming up FAST, on the 17th already! We haven't even got our scene built... but the most important are our lines. I have one of the leading roles. All you who've known me from before should be SURPRISED at this!!!! Little Emma who always wanted to hide - I've taken my step into the lime light... at least for a short while. Maybe half an hour.... I have to play a man though, but that's all right.

I've been working on a doll. All the short time I have watched my Mum sew I finally got the courage to try on my own. I am currently trying to figure out how to get the hair sewn on, heehee. I am havin' fun! Can't wait to try sewing the pants...

I've started to think if I could design my own baby clothes - just for the fun of it. because... I want to sew teeny cute baby clothes.... Even if I would only then donate them away... because even that is worth the effort.

I am searching for a summer job....... No luck yet, but some possibilities....

I found a project that I would like to do for school. We have a 6 week time that we can do what we want - within limits, of course. I heard about a children's home here where I live, and upon reading Dave Pelzer's books, and upon finding a good sounding children's home in S.Dakota.... I started wanting to make my project about children's homes. I have no clue though and I pray a lot about it, because it's such an important thing. I really want to stretch my limits on this project, and feel myself grow. Of course, going to SD would mean for me to save up a LOT of money. I've thought of asking my church(s) for help, if they could help me... But I really don't know. I think the most of it will have to come from my own pocket... and possibly Micke's.... he would obviously follow me. There's no way I would leave him behind.

I also need to save money for Maine. This is all aimed for the summer of 2010, so I have very little time. I'm thinking of everything I can to save/earn money, which is why a summer job would be so nice... Though half of my project would have to be done this summer (at the children's home here in the town somewhere).

Like I said, there is a LOT of stuff going on. Big plans in the works!

My heart is longing to do so much, even though I have no idea how much I can actually get done. That's what faith is. Yup. The future looks exciting!
